A galley slave to the keyboard

I am a galley slave to pen and ink.
Honore de Balzac (1799 – 1850)

The past two weeks my keyboard has gotten quite a workout as I work on my first packet for school, when I’m not writing I’m thinking about what I’m going to write or reading about poetry, form, line breaks, meter, and prosody. All new to me because when I started writing poetry I just wrote what felt right, it’s only been in the editing and studying process where my errors stick out. Today in honor of National Poetry Month some local poets are going to do a reading at the restaurant from 1:00-3:00 p.m., if it feels right I might read one of my poems. Just a heads up for any local Writing Nag readers.

Lovingly,
The Writing Nag
