Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own.
Carol Burnett (1936 – )
I feel I need to apologize when I don’t post but my “packet work” for school seems to takeover most of my Tuesdays and much of the rest of the week too. I am reading Dojo Wisdom for Writers: 100 Simple Ways to Become a More Inspired, Successful and Fearless Writer by Jennifer Lawler which is a wonderful, short little book of wisdom for writers. I love this type of book, small enough to tuck in my purse, short enough chapters to read while waiting for customers, or just taking a computer break. Each chapter also follows with a prompt…some writing prompts but many things you can do to become more inspired, successful and fearless. I am looking to be all three. On Monday I email my first packet of work, it will be interesting to see how I am doing on the self-study.
Another book recommendation for aspiring poets, which I just added to my study plan. The Ode Less Travelled-Unlocking the Poet Within by Stephen Fry. Add one or both of these books to your list. Now get back to work!
Lovingly,
The Writing Nag
