And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more…

I just came back from four hours of waiting. I waited at the health department and then waited at the sales tax office, then the post office, bank, grocery store and the pharmacy. Forty-five minutes of errands took four hours. I was grumpy, hot, (Colorado Springs is in the 60’s today) and not feeling very Christmasy. I opened my front door to a beautiful basket of homemade cookies, gorgeous fruit and candies lovingly put together by a good friend.
And then I read this. Read it….the thoughtful gift and the Christmas elves all over the world made all of my grumpiness disappear…
Lovingly,
