The freshness of childhood

“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

No matter how old I am I feel like summer is for relaxing…I still work the same amount of hours but I want to spent all of my leisure time outside…yesterday, I planted more perennials and worked on cleaning up the garden. I should be concentrating on sending out queries, instead I am writing content on charcoal grills, cottage garden flowers and vacation spots. Summer is for blowing bubbles, dancing in the rain, lying in the hammock, sitting in the garden, picking flowers, taking long leisurely walks instead of hikes, eating on the patio, roasting marshmallows, and trying to get out of the heat. Today it’s supposed to hit 92 degrees!
How does your writing practice change in the summer? And if it doesn’t how do you keep the discipline to sit at your desk? Now get back to work! (after a nice tall glass of lemonade)
Lovingly,
The Writing Nag
