Standing In Our Own Light

“Alas! must it ever be so?
Do we stand in our own light, wherever we go,
And fight our own shadows forever?”
Edward Robert Bulwer-Lytton

Happy Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil says six more weeks of winter today…and it looks like we’re getting snow on Thursday. Even though we had a very mild winter, I am ready for spring.

What do you think Lytton means by this quote? Are you preventing your own success? Do you use your past to hold you back? If you were honest with yourself how hard do you work at being a writer? Do you make excuses or do you do the hard work. Today, think of 10 ways you can improve your effort in February. Now get back to work!

Lovingly,

The Writing Nag
