Let the rain kiss you.

Let the rain kiss you.  Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops.  Let the rain sing you a lullaby. Langston Hughes

We got home late last night from our long weekend away…it was relaxing and quiet with lots of good meals and family time. I was a little worried about my garden because I had just planted seeds but it was cooler in Colorado Springs than Glenwood Springs and now this morning gorgeous rain.
Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Rain is so infrequent here that it feels like a gift to my plants and my spirit. We had very little snowfall this winter so I’m sure there will be water rationing this summer. I’m working on a new garden this summer, near the garage where it feels a little neglected…it will be a Xeriscape garden. I’ll post some pictures as it gets planted and fills in. The beginning quote this morning by Langston Hughes is actually part of a poem, April Rain Song.

April Rain Song

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

Langston Hughes
